Minor in Neuroscience

The interdisciplinary neuroscience minor is offered jointly through the Department of Physiology and Neurobiology and the Department of Psychology.


Requirements for the minor are at least 15 credits of 200 level courses as detailed below: (Neuroscience Minor - Plan of Study)

  • All Students must take both of the following lecture courses:
    • Physiological Psychology (PSYC 257)
    • Biology of the Brain (PNB 251)

  • Students must take at least one of the following:
    • Laboratory in Physiological Psychology (PSYC 252, 263W, 267/267W)
    • Investigationis in Neurobiology (PNB 263WQ)

  • Additional courses to fulfill the 15 credit requirement should be selected in consultation with neuroscience advisors in Psychology or Physiology and Neurobiology. These may include:
    • PSYC 205, 220, 252, 253, 254, 259, 263
    • PNB 262, 280
    • Up to 3 credits of independent study (PNB 299, PSYC 297/299) may be counted towards the minor with permission of the neuroscience minor advisor
